The purpose of FRSPhotoViewer is to quickly and easily set up one or more photo albums of your digital photos, so that you can enjoy them from time to time.

The photos can be anywhere on your computer, and they can be added to any photo album that you add to FRSPhotoViewer. Photos can be re-arranged, rotated, or removed. You can double-click on a photo to see it fullscreen.

Via the "Presentation" menu, you can view all of the photos in the selected photo album fullscreen in order. The manual one is great for doing "slide show" presentations in a boardroom, family room, or local club. The automated presentation is perfect as a temporary screensaver, running as a background photo album at a party, or at a trade show.

If you have ever used a product like Microsoft Powerpoint, you know it is not trivial to set up a presentation. With FRSPhotoViewer you can go from selecting photos to viewing them fullscreen in a matter of seconds!

Getting Started

When you installed the application, FRSPhotoViewer adds a default, empty photo album for you. Click the "Photo | Add Photos..." menu command (or its matching toolbar button) to select the photo or photos you would like to add to the photo album. By default, FRSPhotoViewer sets as the name or description of the photos their file names, but if that is not what you want, you can remove that text via the "Photo | Remove All Descriptions..." menu command. You can then enter your own descriptions, or leave them blank.

Use the buttons on along the right-hand edge for arranging the photos, if so desired, or use the additional menu commands on the "Sort" menu to automatically sort the photos in the album.

You can add more photos albums using the "Album | Add" menu command. Have fun with this application!

How Do I Get the Latest Version?

You can always download FRSPhotoViewer directly via the "Download" tab above. However, FRSPhotoViewer automatically checks to see if a new version has been released each time you run it, if you have enabled that option and your computer has an active Internet connection. When a new version has been found, it will be downloaded, and you will be notified of the automatic upgrade when you close the application. Making sure you are always up-to-date is both free and easy!

(fig. 4)

When an upgrade is being downloaded, a download icon appears in the status bar (see figure 4). Note that you can close the application at any time. If an upgrade was in the process of being downloaded, the application will stop and try again the next time you run it.

(fig. 5)

When the download has completed, the icon will change to one showing a sun (see figure 5). At that point the application will be upgraded when you close it.

If for some reason you wish to disable automatic upgrading, click on the "Settings | Automatic Application Upgrade" menu command to turn OFF that feature. The state of the check mark to the left of that menu command indicates whether or not FRSPhotoViewer checks for new upgrades. If you turn that option on again, FRSPhotoViewer will immediately check the Fourth Ray Software server to see if a new version is available, and download it if there is one.

For How Long Can I Use the Free Version?

(fig. 6)

FRSPhotoViewer comes with a one-time, 21-day trial period during which you can use the full functionality of the application for free. There are no restrictions during that time period. When the free trial period is over, you must purchase a license to continue to use the application (click on the "Buy" tab above). All of the data you entered during the free trial period will still be there after you have paid for your license. There is no separate download required after you have purchased your license. The status bar (see figure 6) indicates how many days you have remaining in your free trial period.

How Do I Enable the Paid-for Version?

When you have paid for a license for FRSPhotoViewer, you will receive your unique serial number. You can enter the serial number via the "FRSPhotoViewer | Enter Serial Number..." menu command. You will also see this window when you start the application and you have allowed your trial period to expire. You need to enter the serial number you received from us. We recommend copying and then pasting the serial number, as it is easy to mistype it. When ready, press the OK button to have FRSPhotoViewer verify the serial number. If it is valid, the application will switch to a "paid-for" version, which you can verify by clicking on the "FRSPhotoViewer | About..." menu command.
